Connecting Community

Empowering Entrepreneurs

We have established an innovative outdoor/indoor market beyond commerce, serving as a vibrant hub where minority-owned businesses thrive, voices are amplified, and impactful organizations dedicated to serving minority populations are spotlighted.

Celebrating Diversity

We provide a dedicated space for BIPOC entrepreneurs to showcase their talents, products, and services to break down barriers, challenge stereotypes, and inspire positive change.

New Market Location

For the past four years, Melanin Market Omaha has proudly called Millwork Commons home. We chose Millwork Commons as the original site for our marketplace because of its alignment with our values and long-term vision. Their commitment to cultivating inspiring spaces where people can live, work, connect, and create mirrored our own mission to celebrate culture and expand opportunity for BIPOC entrepreneurs.

Through that partnership, we built more than a market. We built momentum. We welcomed thousands of guests, supported hundreds of minority owned businesses, and strengthened Omaha’s local economic ecosystem. We are grateful for the foundation Millwork Commons helped us establish and for a community that believed in our work from the beginning.

As Melanin Market Omaha continues to grow, so must our capacity. We are excited to announce that our new home will be the Omaha Design Center. This transition allows us to expand vendor access, improve the overall guest experience, and continue scaling our impact with intention. The Omaha Design Center provides the space and infrastructure necessary to support the next phase of our growth while remaining rooted in our core mission.

Our commitment remains the same: to create a dynamic marketplace that centers BIPOC entrepreneurs, fosters economic circulation within our communities, and cultivates an environment where culture and commerce intersect with purpose.
